About the University:
This public university in in the city of Famagusta, Northern Cyprus, was established in 1979 as a technological higher education institution, and became a university in 1986. In 2023 it had around 17 thousand students, 13 thousand of whom were foreigners. The most prestigious of the 23 higher education institutions in Northern Cyprus, it was ranked between 601 and 800 by Times Higher Education 2024. Although the Republic of Northern Cyprus is only recognised by Turkey and not by the rest of the international community, EMU degrees are recognised by the Turkish state, as well as other countries in Europe and elsewhere with which Turkey has signed mutual recognition agreements.
